A collision between a taxi and a light motor vehicle at the intersection of Old Main and Stapleton Road in Pinetown has left six people injured this afternoon.
ER24 and EMRS arrived on the scene, they found the two vehicles in the middle of the intersection and causing major traffic delays in the Pinetown area.
The driver and two occupants from the taxi had suffered minor cut and abrasions and were found walking around on the scene. The driver and two passengers from the car were still inside the vehicle. They were examined and found that the one passenger had suffered a possible neck and back injury and needed Advanced Life Support intervention. The patient was given pain medication through a drip and put onto a specialised board. The driver and passenger suffered very minor injuries. All patients were stabilised on scene and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
