12 people have sustained various injuries following a taxi accident in Lanseria this afternoon.
The cause of the collision is unknown, but the single minibus taxi had allegedly lost control before overturning multiple times at the intersection of Malibongwe and Lionpark.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and could see that the collision was severe. They found a total of 12 occupants in need of medical attention. 1 male had sustained suspected injuries to his back and neck. Due the injuries sustained the paramedics promptly dispatched the ER24 Discovery Medicopter to the scene.
The man was later airlifted to Johannesburg Genral hospital for further care. The remaining 11 patients received treatment at the scene for injuries ranging from deep cuts to suspected back and neck injuries.
All the patients were treated at the scene before being transported to various medical facilities in various ambulances. Local law enforcement officials who attended the scene will be investigating the incident further.
