One person has being killed and four other people have sustained minor to serious injuries after a light motor vehicle left the road and rolled numerous times before coming to a halt just off the N1 north bound between Polokwane and Matoks this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics and the Provincial ambulance service arrived on the scene and found the light motor vehicle off the road with extensive damage all round the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were found outside seated on the floor. One occupant unknown if he is the driver was assessed and found that he had suffered traumatic and fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.
Two other occupants a male and a female had suffered possible neck and back injuries along with multiple cuts and a broken arm. Two more occupants both females had suffered minor to moderate injuries. All four patients were stabilised on scene and transported to Polokwane Provincial Hospital for further medical care.
It is unclear how or why the driver lost control of the vehicle but the local authorities were on the scene and would investigate further.
