The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) on Monday said the country is facing a shortage of blood.
It said the service currently has a two-day supply.
The ideal stock levels should be four to five days.
SANBS’ Marelda Sibanyoni said, “We are always concerned about shortages because we need to ensure that there’s adequate supply of blood, especially during the festive season.”
