A man believed to be in his late 30’s has been bitten on his hand by a Puff Adder on his farm in the Thornville / Richmond area this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man’s hand had already swollen up. Knowing the severity of the incident the paramedics immediately stabilised the hand and gave Advanced Life Support intervention to the patient. He was rushed off to Edendale Hospital in a serious but stable condition for further medical intervention.
It is believer that the man was cleaning his garden when he picked up a tub not knowing the snake was underneath.
