13 people sustained various injuries this morning following a single vehicle collision on the Ventersdorp road outside of Potchefstroom.
The cause of the collision is unknown, but a single minibus taxi had veered from the road, allegedly to avoid colliding with a buck, before overturning. When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found a total of 13 individuals in need of medical attention.
All of the patients were treated at the scene for various injuries ranging from suspected back and neck injuries to multiple scrapes and bruises.
All the patients were later transported to a nearby medical facility by ER24 and another ambulance service. Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
