A taxi traveling on the N14 between William Nicol (R511) and the Lanseria off ramp (R55), overturned killing one of the occupants and leaving seven others injured.

The taxi was the only vehicle involved in the accident and what caused the vehicle to overturn will need to be investigated by the necessary officials who attended the scene.

All eight of the occupants were found strewn across the roads, having allegedly been ejected as the taxi rolled. A man had already succumbed to his injuries and he had died at the scene. A woman had broken both of her legs quite badly and paramedics rushed her to Helen Joseph hospital by ambulance. Another patient had a badly broke leg and a Medicopter was called in to assist. The patient was taken in a serious but stable condition to Milpark Hospital.

The other five patients had sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated on scene before being take to hospitals in the surrounding area.
