Two men and two women are lucky to have escaped a collision with three cows on the Viljoenskroon Road without any injury.
It appears that the four were traveling in the direction of Viljoenskroon from Kroonstad in a double cab bakkie when the three cows were walking in the road. The stretch of road is badly lit and it is possible that the driver did not see the cows in the dark.
Despite extensive damage to the bakkie, and subsequent death of the three cows following the collision, all four of the occupants of the bakkie remained uninjured.
Paramedics assessed the patients thoroughly and the patients then decided that they would not require further treatment in hospital and they left the scene privately.
It is at this stage not know where the cows had come from and local law enforcement would investigate.
