Car crashes into a swimming pool in Alberton

[Germiston 24 February 2012 15:30]

A man is lucky to have come out of an accident in Germiston with only moderate injuries after crashing his car into a swimming pool this afternoon at the corners of Lennox and Black Reef streets.

According to reports, the driver swerved to avoid a collision with a taxi who appeared to have stopped suddenly to off load passengers. The driver allegedly could not regain control of his Honda sedan and the vehicle crashed through a residential precast wall, into a tree and then into the swimming pool.

The residents found the man in his seat and luckily they were there to quickly pull him out. They immediately called for the assistance of ER24 paramedics who treated the man for moderate injuries and took him through to the Union Hospital for further care.

No one else was injured in the accident.
