A woman has sustained what appears to be a severe back injury after she allegedly slipped down the stairs at her place of work in Clayville.
ER24 paramedics were sent to the woman’s offices after a call placed through the 084 124 Contact Centre this morning. When they arrived at the scene, the woman was complaining of pain to her hip and back area. Upon assessment, they determined that due to the nature of the fall, that the woman may have sustained a severe injury to her pelvic region and they would require her to get to a medical facility urgently.
While paramedics were treating the woman on scene for her injuries, the ER24 Discovery Medicopter was dispatched. With an injury like as was suspected to the woman’s back, and the findings upon assessment, the Medicopter would be the best choice of transportation to hospital.
The woman in her 40’s would be airlifted to Unitas hospital were she was handed over in a stable condition. Further tests would need to be conducted at the medical facility to determine the exact extent of her injuries.
