[PIETERMARITZBURG – 31 MARCH 2012 AT 11H30]
A taxi and two light motor vehicles have been involved in a collision on the Edendale Road just outside of Pietermaritzburg, which left thirteen people injured this morning.
ER24 and EMRS arrived on the scene to find all three vehicles in the road with extensive damage to all three vehicles. The occupants were found seated on the verge next to the accident. They were assessed and found that two people had suspected neck and back injuries. A baby believed to be under the age of one had a horrible cut to the face, while the remaining ten people had sustained various minor to moderate injuries. They were treated on scene and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.
It is unclear what caused the three vehicles to collide into one another but the necessary authorities will investigate the accident further.
