Two injured in Bryanston accident

[Bryanston 07 April 2012 14:00]

It appeared that the man driving the Silver Toyota Corolla was pulling out of the shopping center on Peter Place when the accident happened. Another sedan had collided into the driver’s side of the Corolla with enough force to leave the driver entrapped in his seat.

The driver, a 57 year old man, had suffered quite severe injuries in the form of a broken right arm and possibly his shoulder too, and had also suffered chest injuries. The Fire and Rescue Services needed to use the Jaws of Life to get the man out of the wreckage, and paramedics stabilised the man inside the car while Rescuers worked around them.

After a long period of cutting, the man was finally freed. He was further stabilised, loaded into a waiting ambulance and was taken to Mediclinic Sandton for further care.

The driver of the second vehicle fortunately only suffered minor injuries and he too was taken to Mediclinic Sandton for assessment.
