Minibus taxi crashes through residential wall in Kimberley

KIMBERLEY 11 April 2012, 12:40

Three people sustained various injuries this afternoon following a single vehicle collision on Transvaal road in Kimberley.

The cause of the collision is unclear at this stage, but a minibus taxi with three occupants had veered from the road before going through a residential wall and then colliding with another wall in the residential yard.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found that the driver and a female passenger had both sustained minor injuries only, in the form of various scrapes and bruises. The second passenger, also a female, had sustained suspected back and neck injuries as well as a suspected broken left arm.

On-scene paramedics carefully extricated the female from the vehicle before immobilising her to special equipment. She then received further treatment at the scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility for further care.

Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the cause of the incident further.
