[HEKPOORT] – A collision between a truck and a car on the Ventersdorp Road in Hekpoort left two people in a critical condition and another with serious injuries.
Paramedics from ER24 that arrived on the scene found a Kia Picanto mangled underneath the truck. Three people, believed to be in their 20’s, were still trapped in the vehicle. Two occupants in the vehicle sustained critical injuries and had to be airlifted by Medicopters to a Johannesburg Hospital for further specialist treatment. The third occupant was stabilised on the scene and transported by ambulance to a Krugersdorp Hospital.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the collision.
The exact cause is not yet known and will be investigated. Bystanders did explain that it appeared as if the Kia allegedly lost control and crashed into the side of the truck.
