A woman was lucky to have escaped serious injury in an accident in the early hours of this morning. ER24 Carletonville paramedics were called to the R501 between Carletonville and Johannesburg where there were reports of a car in a ditch.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, the driver of the vehicle was found walking around the scene. Despite the vehicle being stuck in the roadside ditch, the woman had managed to climb out by herself. Thorough assessments by paramedics revealed that she had luckily only sustained very minor injuries and she decided that she did not want to go to hospital at that stage by ambulance. She would make her way to hospital privately in the event that anything changed in her condition.
The cause of the accident will be determined after appropriate investigations have been conducted by authorities.
