A female worker at a pie factory in Grassy Park sustained some injuries this afternoon after she got her arm stuck between two dough rollers.
The cause of the incident is unclear at this stage, but the worker who was operating the machine got her right arm stuck between the two rollers while feeding in the dough. Concerned coworkers rushed to the aid of the 25 year old female and immediately called the Emergency Medical Services out to the scene.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the woman still stuck in the machine. Rescue workers from the Western Cape Provincial Department of Health: Emergency Medical Services managed to extricate the patients arm from the machine.
Paramedics then treated the worker at the scene for a suspected broken right arm before transporting her to Victoria Hospital for further treatment. the incident will be investigated by the appropriate authority.
