One person has died and another person sustained minor injuries only following a single vehicle collision on Petrus Stroom road in Pietermaritzburg earlier this afternoon.
The exact cause of the accident is unclear at this stage, but a single passenger vehicle had allegedly veered out of control before overturning in a roadside ditch.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found that the male passager, believed to be aged in his 30’s, had sustained various fatal injuries. The man was later declared dead at the scene.
The driver was found to be walking around on the scene and had sustained minor scrapes and bruises only. The man had later refused any on-scene treatment or transportation. Law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
