A 19 year old man sustained serious injuries this afternoon following a collision with a motor vehicle at the corners of Faraday and Pasteur boulevard in Vanderbijlpark.
The cause of the collision is unclear, but when ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the injured motorcyclist lying in the road. The teenager was in severe pain.
After assessing the patient’s condition paramedics established that the motorcyclist had sustained various scrapes and bruises, suspected back and neck injuries as well as a broken right leg.
The patient was treated and stabilised at the scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility for further care. None of the occupants in the passenger vehicle sustained any injuries in the collision. Local law enforcement officials attended the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
