Two young men killed in Kempton Park collision

[Kempton Park, GP 10 June 2012 03:30]

Two young men have been killed and two others injured in a single vehicle accident at the corners of Dan and van Riebeek street in Kempton Park.

It looks like the driver of the VW Citi Golf suddenly lost control of the vehicle for some reason and the car then crashed into a lamp post and then into a solid wall. The left sided passenger door was completely ripped from the vehicle, and both of the back seat passengers were ejected. One young man in his early 20’s and one in his late 20’s were found lying near the wreck and they had suffered extensive injuries.

Initial assessment of the two young men that had been ejected revealed that they had already died at the scene due to their injuries and there were no signs of life. Both young men were declared dead on scene.

The driver and front seat passenger were lucky to have sustained only minor injuries and they were both taken through to Tembisa Hospital for further assessment and care.

The cause of the accident will need to be investigated.
