Men injured after five meter fall at building site in Potchefstroom

[Potchefstroom, NW 12 July 2012 10:00]

Two men have been injured after they fell approximately five meters off a scaffolding platform while they were working on a building site in Potchefstroom this morning.

A new complex is being built on Pezcod street in Potchefstroom where the two men are working as builders. They were on top of the scaffolding when it is believed that the wooden planks that they were standing on gave way and both men fell to the ground. They were found lying on the gravel and their colleagues assisted them to where ER24 paramedics found them, one lying on his back and the other sitting next to him.

The 41 year old was complaining of pain to his back, and the 38 year old had multiple abrasions and pain in his head. Both men were in a stable condition and speaking to paramedics while they were being assessed. Paramedics then treated their injuries, placed them on spinal immobilisation equipment and took them through to Mediclinic Potchefstroom by ambulance.
