Bakkie crashes into tree in Springs

[Springs, GP 13 July 2012 12:30]

The force at which the 1 ton bakkie crashed into the tree left a gaping hole in the passenger side of the cabin, and the man in his 20’s sitting in that position with such extensive injuries that he died at the scene.

Nothing more could be done for the man to save his life, and paramedics declared him dead on scene. The two other men, in their 30’s, had fortunately only sustained moderate injuries and were in a stable condition. They were treated for their injuries on scene before being taken to the Far East Rand hospital for further care.

At this time, it is not clear as to what caused the driver to lose control of the bakkie, but the vehicle spun off the road and came to rest against the tree just off Connaught avenue near the intersection with Paul Kruger Avenue in Springs.
