Five people have been injured after a rear impact collision occurred at the intersection of Pretoria Main road and Chadwick street in Wynberg.
It is possible that the slippery roads following the strange and cold weather around Johannesburg today may have played a role in the cause of the accident. Even paramedics responding to the call mentioned how slippery the roads in the area feel.
A Ford Fiesta crashed so hard into the back of a Mahindra delivery bakkie that it appeared to have ripped the engine bay of the vehicle apart. The three men traveling in the Fiesta at the time suffered multiple injuries and although serious, were all in a stable condition. The driver was trapped in his seat and the Fire and Rescue workers had to use their hydraulic rescue equipment to get him out. All three were treated on scene before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
The two men traveling in the Mahindra suffered minor injuries only. The Bramley police attended the scene.
