A man has tragically drowned in the Umkomaas River this afternoon. Exact detail that caused the man to enter the river will remain a subject for police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the SAPS search rescue from Durban and Ports Shepstone arrived at the Umkomaas River and found the body of a man trapped on a sand bank in the centre of the river.
The rescue officers recovered the body of an adult man suspected to have drowned several days ago from the river in a specialized stretcher, he was handed over to the Umkomaas police for further investigation.
