[Benoni, GP – 17 September 2012 at 09H30]
Three light motor vehicles have been involved in a collision at the corners of Great North and Hospital Road in Northmead in Benoni this morning. Leaving three people injured due to the collision.
When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they found one of the light motor vehicles a VW Polo on its roof with the driver still inside the vehicle. The two other drivers were found outside of the vehicle.
The driver inside the VW Polo had to be extricated with the help of the local Fire Department who had to use the Jaws of Life and other rescue equipment to get him out. All three drivers were lucky not to sustain and serious injuries but were placed on Specialised boards as they suspected possible neck and back injuries due to the accident. They were transported to nearby hospitals for further medical care.
The circumstances around the accident would be investigated by the local authorities.
