A 39 year old worker at a storeroom in Paarl sustained serious injuries this morning when a trailer he was working on fell on him.
The reason for the incident is unknown at this stage, but the worker was allegedly working underneath the trailer when it somehow collapsed and fell on him. ER24 paramedics responded to the scene and found that the man had already been removed from underneath the trailer by concerned coworkers.
Paramedics found the man in severe pain. The patient received on-scene Advanced Life Support treatment for crushing injuries to his chest as well as suspected back and neck injuries.
The patient was later rapidly transported to Mediclinic Paarl for further treatment. The incident will be investigated by the appropriate authority.
