[HILTON, KZN – 01 OCTOBER 2012 AT 16H00]
A truck driver has been killed after losing control of his articulated truck on the N3 Pietermaritzburg bound just past Hilton this afternoon.
ER24 and other emergency personnel arrived on the scene and found an articulated truck had left the N3 gone up the embankment and rolled causing extensive damage to the cabin of the truck. Emergency personnel found the driver still entrapped inside the vehicle but unfortunately the driver had already succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on scene.
The Jaws of Life and other rescue equipment was used to extricate the deceased from the wreckage.
The necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident further.
