A two-year-old girl has drowned in a swimming pool at Paarlin Drive, Meer-en-see, Richards Bay Thursday evening. Reports indicate that the Family found the child at the bottom of the pool, after removing her from the water, neighbors started resuscitation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the child still unresponsive and took over with advanced life support resuscitation. After the child was placed on a ventilator, they transported her to the Netcare Bay hospital for further treatment.
After a lengthily resuscitation they managed to regain a spontaneous hear beat, the child was moved into the intensive care unit where she remains in a critical condition.
