Two males are in a serious condition after a near-drowning incident at the Southbroom beach this afternoon. Reports indicate that the two went swimming and got into difficulty in the rough surf, they were rescued by N S R I staff and local life guards.
Netcare 911 paramedics and S A P S search and rescue arrived at the scene and found the men on the beach with serious near-drowning symptoms. After they were stabilized on scene, medics transported them to the Port Shepstone provincial hospital for the care that they required.
