An elderly man has been badly injured after it is believed that he fell out of a window at his home on Buitekant street in Vredehoek.
The 80 year old man was apparently inside the apartment on the second floor, but it is not clear as to what caused him to fall out of the window. Paramedics found the man lying on the grass below the window that he had allegedly fallen out of.
Despite being in a severe amount of pain, having sustained severe chest injuries, back and neck injuries and a broken leg, he was still responding to his rescuers. They treated the elderly man where he lay, placed him onto stabilising equipment to protect his back and neck, and he was then taken by paramedics to the New Somerset hospital by ambulance.
