A woman believed to be in her early twenties is in a serious but stable condition after been bitten by a snake on her foot while walking on a nature trail in Shongweni this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene and found the woman being treated by first aides. They handed over to the paramedics and told them what treatment they had down. Paramedics assessed the patient and the wound where she was bitten. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the patient before she was transported to Hillcrest Private Hospital in a serious but stable for further medical care.
It is believed that the snake was a puff adder.
