A fifteen-year-old girl sadly drowned at Wild Coast Sun Casino’s beach this afternoon and another young girl narrowly escaped death after a near drowning incident.
Life guards noticed the two young girls were in difficulty while swimming in the ocean and rushed to their aid. The NSRI boat was also called in to the scene.
The two young girls were removed from the water and Netcare 911 paramedics and other services resuscitated the fifteen-year-old girl for over an hour but sadly she was declared dead on scene.
The other girl was treated and stabilised on scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility for further treatment.
