A man in his thirties is fighting for his life after his vehicle collided into a tree at the intersection of Northway and Cavendish Road Durban. Reports indicate that the man seemed to have lost control of the Colt bakkie, veered off the road and flipped, before coming to rest on its roof against a tree.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man still trapped in the mangled wreckage of his vehicle . Medics clambered into the wreckage to stabilize the injured man while emergency workers worked tirelessly to extricate him.
The man was placed on a ventilator at the scene and after he was skillfully immobilized on a trauma board , they transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required.
