A Netcare 911 response vehicle was driving past a field where the grass was being cut in the Moot, Pretoria area and noticed a man running out of the field surrounded by a swarm of bees.
Paramedics directly the man, who was stung multiple times, to the Netcare 911 base, which fortunately was only two hundred metres away from the field, where they assessed him and immediately started with treatment.
The man started showing signs of an allergic reaction after five minutes and the swift action of the paramedics who followed the Anaphylaxis protocol ensured the man received the necessary medication without delay.
An ambulance was called immediately to transport the man to the Steve Biko Academic Hospitals for further medical care.
