A security guard is in a serious condition after sustaining a gunshot wound at a construction site near Spaghetti junction in Durban this morning. Exact details as to how he got shot or preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the ground down a steep embankment. After they clambered down the hill with their equipment, medics were able to stabilize and package the injured man in a rescue stretcher.
The Netcare rescue officers then set up a steep slope rescue system and hoisted the man up to where the ambulance was parked. The patient was transported to the Netcare St Augustine’s hospital for the care that he required.
