Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the N3 south bound between Warden and Villiers this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a heavy goods vehicle had left the road way at a bridge and fell down into the river below the bridge..
The driver of the heavy goods vehicle tragically died during the accident.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
