Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to a drowning incident in Kimberley in the Northern Cape this evening.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a five-year-old boy was found in the pool and CPR had already been commenced after he was pulled out of the pool.
Paramedics continued with resuscitation for over thirty minutes but the boy was sadly declared dead at the scene.
Exact detail of the incident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
