Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident between two vehicles on the R55 near Diepsloot this morning,
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two vehicles collided resulting in one person sustaining critical injuries and a second person sustaining moderate injuries.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured patient to a nearby hospital for the urgent medical care required. The second patient was treated on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
