Pregnant lady and young boy rescued off Lion’s Head after Fall


A young boy believed to be ten years of age and a woman who is seven months pregnant have been rescued from the Lion’s Head after the little boy fell and landed on top of the woman this afternoon.

Emergency personnel hiked to wear the patients were and found that the young boy had suffered a possible broken arm and broken leg. Advanced Life Support intervention was performed on the boy to help stabilise him further. The young woman believed to be about 7 months pregnant was suffering with back pain and was stabilised on scene by the paramedics. While both patients were being treated, Skymed1 was activated to help airlift both patients off the mountain to where the ambulances were waiting to transport them to hospital for further medical care.

It’s believed that the young boy lost his footing and fell and landed on the woman who was underneath him.
