Three people were left with minor smoke inhalation after their house caught fire on Saturday evening.
ER24 Paramedics received frantic calls that a house was on fire in Plover Street, MacKenzie Park in Benoni with people still inside.
On arrival paramedics found the house to be engulfed with smoke and portions of the house to be alight, one person was already removed from the house by the community and two other people were still inside, the community along with ER24 paramedics managed to get the remaining two people out the main bedroom by breaking the window.
All three people were assessed on scene and treated for minor smoke inhalation by ER24 paramedics and did not require further medical care.
Local authorities were on scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
