A little seven year old girl has tragically died after she allegedly drowned in a pond at her home in Lanseria.
Paramedics from two private services arrived on scene and the Advanced Life Support paramedic, who arrived first, immediately initiated resuscitation efforts. ER24 JHB West crew then assisted in performing CPR on the little girl, but after a long battle to save her life there was no change in her condition and she was pronounced dead.
The details surrounding this incident are still not clear, but it is believed that the girl simply fell into the pond which was located a short distance from the house on a plot off Elandsdrift road in the outlying area of Lanseria. The child was allegedly found floating in the pool by family members after being submerged in the water for an unknown time.
Local police will be investigating the details, and trauma councillors were sent to the scene to assist with supporting the family emotionally.
