Six taxi commuters were injured in a roll-over accident on the R102 near the Umhlali River Bridge this morning at around 02h00. Reports indicate that the taxi was traveling on the north bound lane when the vehicle overturned rolling several times. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the injured had been ejected from the vehicle while it was tumbling down the roadway. After triaging they found that two people sustained serious injuries while four miraculously escaped with minor injuries. Paramedics stabilized the injured on scene before they transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
