Rescue Care paramedics were called to a serious collision on the N2 South bound near Claire Road bridge just after 10am today.
On arrival paramedics found that a vehicle had collided into the back of a truck. Paramedics quickly assessed the situation and found that the driver had sustained serious injuries and immediately began stabilizing her. On stabilized using Advanced Life Support intervention the patient was carefully extricated from the vehicle. The patient was then placed in a awaiting ambulance and transported to a local Durban Hospital for further care that she required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
Traffic was severely affected as two out of four lanes were closed whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
