Rescue Care paramedics were called to a taxi accident on South Coast Road near Merebank station just after 1pm today.
On arrival Rescue Care and ER24 paramedics found that a taxi had collided with a car. Paramedics found patients lying on the side of the road. More resources were called to assist with the number of patients injured. A total of nine patients had sustained various injuries and were all stabilized on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals for further care that they required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
Traffic was affected as South Coast Road Durban bound was closed whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
