11 people and 4 sheep injured in Amanzimtoti accident

Eleven people and four sheep were injured after a bakkie overturned on the N2 North near the Amanzimtoti River this morning just after 11h00. Reports from the scene are that fifteen people and the four sheep were traveling from Mtwalumi on the south coast to attend a function in Pietermaritzburg when the vehicle overturned. Exact detail to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation.

Netcare 911 paramedics and the emergency services arrived at the scene and found the injured lying on the grass next to the highway, two had sustained serious injuries while nine escaped with minor injuries. Paramedics stabilised the injured on scene before they were transported to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required. The sheep was handed over the Amanzimtoti S P C A for further treatment.
