accidents_default1

Hillcrest paramedics are currently on the scene of an incident near the D1612 Ikhwezi Road in Molweni where a man climbed up one  of the mountains and is now seemingly unable to get down. Details surrounding the reason that the man has climbed the mountain are unclear, as it appears that there were no ropes attached to him and he had no climbing equipment visible.

Paramedics were called to the scene where the man was sitting approximately 30 meters up the mountain and he was not able to get down. He was talking to them from where he was sitting and it seemed that he in not physically injured.

The SAPS Flight Wing team was also dispatched to the scene, and paramedics started trying to climb to where he was but they are unable to reach him. The will need the rescue team to climb to him with ropes and get him down that way.

Paramedics have been on scene since around 07:30 this morning and once they manage to remove the man from the mountain, they will transport him to a local hospital for full medical assessment.
