A two year old little girl has suffered extensive burn injuries after a pot of boiling water was spilt over her this morning.
Just before 12pm, an off duty paramedics was called by a neighbour explaining that the child staying in one of the property employees at a friends house had been badly burnt. She rushed there in her private vehicle and called for backup from her crews who were on duty. She found the child at a home in Bashewa AH off the M30 Garstfontein road ( near Visual Proof CC in Kempton Park). The child was in a critical condition and would require urgent care.
While she was stabilising the little girl, they called in to ER24’s Flight Desk and AER24 was dispatched to the scene.
The toddler was airlifted to Steve Biko Academic Hospital for further care.
Scene reports are that there was a pot of boiling water on the stove which tipped over onto the little girl.
