Netcare 911 paramedics responded to fire incident on Rustenburg Road in Krugersdorp late last night.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a woman believed to be in her thirties and a young girl were in a critical condition after their home caught alight.
They were both treated on scene before they were rushed to a nearby hospital for the urgent medical care that they required.
Exact detail to the cause of the incident and preceding events are unknown and will remain the subject of an investigation.
