An elderly woman has suffered multiple traumatic injuries to her body as a result of being mauled by dogs in the early hours of this morning. It is not clear at to where the woman was, but it was suspected that the alleged attack took place at around 3 am this morning in an informal location in Bothas Hill outside of Durban.
Police where on scene when the local provincial team were called, and the woman who is suspected to be aged in her late 60’s, was found lying on the ground with large parts of the flesh on her arms and legs missing. Despite her being alerts, she was in a critical condition and in a severe amount of pain. Assistance was called from the ER24 Durban Advanced Life Support paramedic who met up with the ambulance and provided the patient with more advanced care.
She was further stabilised inside the ambulance en route to RK Khan hospital and was handed over to medical staff in a critical condition.
Details surrounding this incident are still being investigated by local authorities.
