Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an aircraft accident in the Somerset West Outlying area in Stellenbosch, Western Cape this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a light aircraft had crashed and then caught alight. Tragically, the male occupant of the aircraft lost his life during the accident.
Exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events are unknown and will remain the subject of a Civil Aviation Authority investigation.
