A worker sustained serious injuries after he fell about six meters into the Hull of a ship in Richards Bay late last night. Details to the cause of the incident will be a subject for internal investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the incident and found the man lying on the floor at the bottom of the hull. After they stabilised him on scene and placed him into a specialized stretcher, they used rescue equipment and a crane to hoist the man onto the dock where an ambulance was standing by to transport him to a local hospital for the care that he required.
